Health Benefits of Sweating

Like Vegemite you either love or hate sweating!  I surround myself by people who love getting sweaty, but do have a few friends who absolutely loath the thought of sweating in a hot room with lots of half naked bodies.  Until you’ve tried it you absolutely do not know what you’re missing out on.  The energy and happiness I get out of a Hot Yoga session is immense.  I accept that’s it’s obviously not for everyone though 😉

Gone are my worries, anxiety, low mood, stress, headache, negativity, stiffness, tiredness….and I can go on!  Why does this happen?

Ultimately sweating is a way for your body to cool itself.  When your internal temperature rises your sweat glands release liquid to the skin.  Now it’s not until evaporation occurs that it actually starts to cool the skin and your blood.

WHY DOES SWEAT SMELL?

It’s actually not your sweat that smells, it’s the smell of the bacteria on your skin mixing with the sweat and oh perhaps the odd hormone secretion thrown in 😉
